The US Peace Plan for Ukraine

The USA demands that Ukraine adopt a peace plan that involves significant territorial concessions to Russia, restrictions on Ukraine's army, and a ban on joining NATO. In particular, the 28-point plan requires the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Donetsk region. This decision is driven by the need to achieve stability in the region and ensure security for all parties.

According to the plan's conditions, the size of the Ukrainian armed forces must be limited to 600,000 servicemen, whereas currently, over 900,000 servicemen are stationed in Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky received this plan on Thursday in Kyiv. The USA hopes for the agreement to be signed 'by Thanksgiving,' which will be observed next Thursday.

Sanctions and Investments

US sanctions against Russia will be lifted gradually according to agreed timelines. Additionally, 100 billion dollars of frozen Russian assets will be invested in efforts to rebuild Ukraine. In this context, US representatives emphasize that

“any agreement must provide full security guarantees and deterrents for Ukraine, Europe, and Russia”

If this peace plan is implemented, it could significantly change the geopolitical situation in the region, as it involves significant concessions from Ukraine that could provoke dissatisfaction among the population and political forces in the country. Moreover, the restrictions on armed forces and the ban on joining NATO could have long-term consequences for Ukraine's security and its international relations. Observers point out that US involvement in the negotiations indicates their interest in stability in the region and a desire to avoid further escalation of the conflict.
