SSO Operation on the Crimean Peninsula

According to Главком: Ukraine's Special Operations Forces (SSO) carried out a mission in the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula, targeting the Semykolodyaziansk oil depot and a marine oil terminal in Feodosia. The objective is to degrade the enemy's economic and logistical capabilities. According to SSO representatives, hitting oil processing infrastructure is part of a strategy to systematically weaken the adversary in the war against Ukraine.

The attack was executed by SSO Middle-strike units, which struck the oil depot located in the settlement of Yedy-Kuy (Lenine). The depot contains nine tanks with capacities ranging from 700 to 3,000 cubic meters, used for storing fuel oil, diesel, and bitumen. The distance from the depot to the front line is approximately 200 kilometers. Additionally, a second group of drones traveled over 250 kilometers from the front line, highlighting the range and effectiveness of the operation.

Impact on Fuel Infrastructure

The marine oil terminal in Feodosia houses seven tanks with capacities of 10,000 and 20,000 cubic meters. This terminal served as a fuel reserve in case the Kerch Bridge was blocked. These actions by Ukraine's SSO continue an asymmetric campaign aimed at reducing the enemy's resources.

On the same day, June 7, 2026, a collapse at gas stations was reported in Krasnodar, likely reflecting the consequences of attacks on fuel infrastructure. In Sevastopol, a new system for selling gasoline using personal QR codes was introduced. Each driver is allowed to purchase up to 20 liters of fuel once every seven days. The so-called governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, confirmed these changes, which are probably linked to fuel shortages in the region.

The operation carried out by the SSO is classified as a long-range strike using attack drones. Notably, the Semykolodyaziansk oil depot stored various fuel types, including fuel oil, diesel, and bitumen. The tanks at the depot include both rail and road tankers. This mission is part of a broader strategy to destabilize the enemy's resource base amid the ongoing military conflict.

The attack on the oil depot and terminal in Feodosia demonstrates the growing effectiveness of Ukrainian forces in conducting operations on occupied territories. Reducing the enemy's resources, particularly in fuel supply, could significantly impact its military capabilities. At the same time, the introduction of new fuel sale restrictions in Sevastopol points to mounting difficulties faced by the Russian administration in the region, which may have further economic and social consequences.

In a related context, Ukraine's Defense Forces have also targeted oil facilities beyond the Crimean Peninsula, specifically in Russia's Vladimir Region. This coordinated effort underscores the broader strategy to disrupt the enemy's energy resources, as detailed in a recent report.
