Taxi prices in Ukraine have increased: why drivers are asking for surcharges
According to hvylya.net: The rise in taxi fares in Ukraine is becoming increasingly obvious. The average cost of rides has increased by 3% compared to the summer period, making it more difficult to call a car at the base price.
In Bolt Ukraine, they note that base tariffs remain unchanged; however, the average fare has increased by 3-5% this summer, and this increase in September is 3%. Uklon also confirms the price increase associated with the seasonal autumn rise in demand and the shortage of partner drivers.
Taxi users are complaining on social media that prices in the apps do not match reality. Drivers are demanding additional payment even after the order has been placed. The company Bolt explains this by a new function that allows drivers to propose a price when the chances of accepting an order at the standard price are low, ensuring quick access to cars at any time.
Uklon also uses a dynamic pricing system that takes into account numerous parameters, including weather, time of day, public transport conditions, and the economic situation in the country. This also influences the increase in taxi fares for passengers.
The rise in taxi fares in Ukraine is related to changes in demand for taxi services and the emergence of a shortage of partner drivers during the autumn period.
