'The great and even legendary Charlie Kirk has passed away. No one understood and had the heart of young Americans better than Charlie. He was loved and respected by all, especially by me, and now he is no longer with us,' Trump wrote in his post.
The President also extended condolences to the family of the deceased: 'Melania and my condolences go out to his wonderful wife Erica and family. Charlie, we love you!'
