“Peace to Heaven and Earth: A Porcelain Symphony by the Tregubov Family”

According to Главком: An exhibition showcasing 377 porcelain pieces from the renowned Tregubov family has launched at the National Museum of Decorative Arts of Ukraine. This collection highlights the artistic legacy of the Tregubovs, a distinguished Ukrainian creative dynasty. Running until July 12, the display offers visitors a rare chance to explore these unique works. The exhibition title is inspired by Mykola Tregubov’s 1985 tea set “Peace to Heaven and Earth.”

Mykola Tregubov (1922–2007) was a Honored Artist of Ukraine, a recipient of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize, and the lead sculptor at the Korosten Porcelain Factory. His contributions remain a cornerstone of Ukrainian art. His wife, Valentyna Tregubova (1926–2010), also a Taras Shevchenko National Prize laureate and Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, served as the chief artist at the same factory for many years, profoundly shaping the country’s porcelain tradition.

Members of the Tregubov Family

Their daughter, Nataliia Tregubova (1952–2021), was a celebrated sculptor, painter, and graphic artist, while her brother Volodymyr Tregubov (1957–2013) specialized in small-form sculpture and painting. The entire family’s body of work is marked by originality and technical mastery, making this exhibition particularly significant.

The exhibition “Peace to Heaven and Earth: A Porcelain Symphony by the Tregubov Family” is housed at the National Museum of Decorative Arts of Ukraine, located at 21 Ivana Mazepy Street, Building 2. It will be open to the public through July 12.

This showcase represents a major cultural event in Ukraine, not only because it displays the high artistic skill of the Tregubovs but also because it underscores the importance of porcelain as a vital medium in Ukrainian decorative arts. By honoring each family member’s contributions, the exhibition also opens new avenues for contemporary artists and researchers in the field.
