New scheme for supplying weapons to Ukraine
According to hvylya.net: NATO member countries have developed a new plan for providing critically important American weapons to Ukraine. President Trump has approved this plan for the first time, as reported by European defense officials, according to The New York Times.
Instead of direct shipments of weapons from the U.S. to Ukraine, the Trump administration will sell weapons to allies who will then transfer them to the Ukrainian side. This will avoid direct U.S. involvement in the war and will have financial benefits for the country.
'We are sending weapons to NATO, and NATO pays 100 percent for those weapons,' Trump stated.
The plan was developed after Trump's election in November. Germany, Norway, and other countries expressed readiness to purchase Patriot systems in the U.S. to provide them to Ukraine with Trump’s approval.
The announcement of the new scheme for supplying weapons to Ukraine indicates a shift in the approach to cooperation with Ukrainian partners from NATO member countries. For the first time in history, American weapons will not be delivered directly to Ukraine, which may have significant implications both in terms of security and financially.
