Reserve+ App Update Introduces New Military Service Categories and Reserve Status
Reserve+ Application Gets a Major Refresh
According to ХВИЛЯ: The Reserve+ app has rolled out a significant update that now correctly distinguishes between different military service categories. Users can see in their documents who is classified as a conscript and who is a reservist. This change carries major implications for employers, who will need to re-check their employee rosters to ensure accurate records.
Previously, the app only displayed conscripts and those liable for military service, failing to show reservists. In the updated version, individuals liable for service are clearly labeled, while reservists-those who were previously in reserve status-now have their own distinct category. The documents now make it transparent whether someone is a conscript or a reservist.
How to Become a Reservist
There are two ways to become a reservist:
- Voluntarily signing a contract;
- Being discharged from military service for health reasons, provided the individual is deemed fit for reserve duty based on professional and psychological assessments.
Conscripts who served at the start of the full-scale invasion and were later released have been transferred to the operational reserve. It is worth noting that a person liable for military service who has never served or has completed a military training program at a university can only become a reservist voluntarily.
However, there are important details regarding reservation policies. Reservists cannot be reserved, and they are not counted in the overall number of individuals liable for service when calculating quotas. Commenting on listener reactions, Tetiana Donets said:
“Reservists cannot be reserved, and they don’t affect the quota. This is a betrayal. The state is doing this deliberately so we can’t reserve our employees.”
Yet Tetiana Donets herself rejected this view, stating:
“No, this is not a betrayal.”
Additionally, if the Reserve+ app marks an employee as a reserve soldier with a military occupational specialty (MOS) code of 999, it means the person is a regular individual liable for service, not a reservist. An employee with MOS 999 can be reserved and counted toward the quota. Therefore, the changes in the Reserve+ app significantly affect how military records are managed and how businesses organize their operations.
The Reserve+ update could have a substantial impact on company HR practices, as employers now need to pay closer attention to the military service categories of their staff. This also underscores the importance of data accuracy in relation to reservation rules and military obligations, which can shape corporate personnel policies. Distinguishing between those liable for service and reservists may help prevent future misunderstandings-a critical factor during wartime.
In addition to the recent enhancements, the Reserve+ app has introduced a new military specialty code, 999, specifically for individuals without prior service experience. This update aims to further streamline the classification process and ensure that all personnel are accurately represented. Understanding these changes is crucial, especially for employers and individuals navigating the complexities of military service classifications.
