Ukraine's recognition in the global arms market

Ukraine has received recognition in the global arms market for the first time, as UkrOboronProm (UOP) has ranked 52nd in the SIPRI ranking of the 100 largest arms manufacturers with revenues of 3.0 billion USD. This is an important event for the Ukrainian defense industry, which is demonstrating positive results despite difficult conditions.

Revenue dynamics and competitive pressure

In 2024, UOP's revenues increased by 41% compared to the previous year, indicating stable company growth. In growth rates, UOP ranked sixth in the world and fourth in Europe. The total revenues of the 100 largest defense companies in 2024 were 679 billion USD, confirming the increasing importance of this sector on the global stage.

Meanwhile, Russian companies included in the ranking showed a revenue increase of 23%. This indicates competitive pressure in the industry, where Ukrainian manufacturers have the opportunity to showcase their products and services in the international market.

This dynamics indicates that the Ukrainian defense industry has the potential for further development and strengthening its positions in a global context. As German Smetanin noted,

“This recognition is an important step for Ukraine on the path to integration into the global arms market.”

The recognition of UOP in the international ranking demonstrates Ukraine's growing role in the global defense industry, especially amidst the ongoing war and the need for army modernization. This success can open up new opportunities for collaboration with international partners and attracting investments in the development of new technologies. It is important for Ukraine to continue working on strengthening its defense capability and maintaining competitiveness in the global arms market.
