Ukraine Strikes Three Russian Targets Nearly 1,500 Kilometers from the Front Line
Attack on the Poltavskaya Oil Depot
According to Главком: On the night of June 25, Ukrainian defense forces launched a strike on the Poltavskaya oil depot located in Russia's Krasnodar region, roughly 300 kilometers from the front line. The assault ignited three storage tanks at the facility, indicating severe damage.
Strikes on Oil Refineries
Earlier that same morning, Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) carried out attacks on two oil refineries in the city of Ufa-Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim and Bashneft-Novoyl. These facilities sit approximately 1,500 kilometers from the combat zone.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on these operations, stating: 'Our long-range strikes are consistent, precise responses to Russia's prolongation of the war and its attacks on Ukrainian cities and communities.'
Zelenskyy also emphasized that 'We are executing our plan of long-range sanctions,' underscoring the strategic importance of such measures in the broader context of the conflict.
He further added: 'Russians should think about genuine diplomacy rather than trying to deceive someone again or buy time,' highlighting the urgent need to end the war.
These developments reflect an escalation in hostilities and the continued military engagement between Ukraine and Russia.
The situation along the front remains tense, and strikes on critical infrastructure inside Russia signal a strategic shift in Ukrainian tactics. Such actions could disrupt resource supplies for Russian forces, potentially affecting the conflict's duration and intensity. Diplomatic efforts remain a key focus, as President Zelenskyy's remarks underscore the importance of dialogue in bringing the war to a close.
In light of Ukraine's recent long-range strikes, it's important to note that this is not the first instance of targeted attacks on Russian oil facilities. Zelenskyy confirmed another strike on Moscow's oil refinery just a week ago, highlighting the strategic focus on disrupting Russia's energy resources amidst the ongoing conflict.
