16.5 million border crossings in six months: how Ukrainian migration has changed

According to hvylya.net: In the first half of 2025, the number of state border crossings increased to 16.47 million, which is 4% more than the previous year.
According to the data, 85% of these crossings (14.08 million) are Ukrainians traveling abroad and returning back.
Since the beginning of the year, 7.17 million citizens have left Ukraine, while 6.92 million have returned. This means the number of those who left the country exceeds those returning by 250 thousand people.
On average, each month Ukrainians cross the border 2.35 million times. The least number of crossings occurs in February (1.78 million), while the most is in June (3.13 million).
It has been noted that the summer months of June, July, and August are the most popular for trips abroad, accounting for one-third of all annual crossings during this period.
