Ukrainians who plan to travel to Poland should keep in mind that starting October 27, there may be complications at the border. Some checkpoints are expected to experience queues due to the implementation of the new European entry/exit control system.

According to the State Customs Service, problems may arise at the 'Nyzhankovychi - Malchowice', 'Smilnytsia - Kroscenko' and 'Hrushev - Budomezh' checkpoints due to the launch of the digital Entry/Exit System (EES). This system will record data of all third-country citizens crossing the EU border.

'We ask drivers to take these circumstances into account and consider other checkpoints,' the customs office reported.

The EES will replace the usual passport stamping with electronic registration of border crossings. According to the European Union's plan, this program aims to simplify control, increase safety, and reduce the risks of illegal residence of foreigners in the EU.

It is worth noting that arrests of Ukrainians suspected of espionage against the military have begun in Poland.

Starting October 27, delays are expected at some checkpoints on the border between Ukraine and Poland due to the introduction of the new European entry/exit control system. This EES system is designed to simplify control and reduce the risks of illegal residence of foreigners in the EU.
