Participants also addressed outstanding debts for water extraction and delivery services. As a result, priority steps were identified to resolve tariff and organizational challenges, paving the way for a more stable water supply across the region.
Attendees included representatives from the State Water Resources Agency of Ukraine, the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, the Kharkiv City Council, and Kharkivski Teplovi Merezhi. Iryna Ovcharenko underscored the importance of the issue, stating:
‘Providing people with drinking water is an absolute state priority. Our task today is to find a legal mechanism that ensures uninterrupted water supply to Kharkiv, regulates contractual relations among all parties, and prevents the accumulation of problems.’ - Iryna Ovcharenko
This initiative by the Ministry of Economy reflects the government’s commitment to securing vital resources for the public, especially as water supply challenges grow increasingly pressing. The reorganization of municipal enterprises and the adjustment of tariffs could significantly enhance water resource management efficiency and improve service for consumers. These efforts mark a crucial step toward stabilizing the water supply in the Kharkiv region and raising the quality of life for its residents.
