Ukrainian Air Defense Shoots Down 500 Drones in One Night: Why Europe Lacks Such Experience
According to ХВИЛЯ: The effectiveness of the Ukrainian air defense system, particularly the work of mobile fire groups (MFG), demonstrates impressive results in countering Russian drones. According to military expert Serhiy Beskrestnov, Ukrainian MFGs can shoot down between 400 and 500 targets in one night. This unique experience of Ukraine highlights the vulnerability of European countries to potential mass attacks from aggressors.
“No country in the world has the experience and capabilities that Ukraine does when it comes to air defense”
Serhiy Beskrestnov
The expert notes that in the event of a massive attack, for instance, if 1000 targets were to simultaneously enter a country, it could lead to catastrophic consequences. It has been noted that the enemy fears a repetition of Ukraine's successful operations using drones.
At the same time, Beskrestnov draws attention to the fact that Russia is actively involving youth in the war, particularly students of the Alabuga Polytechnic Complex. This indicates a focus on resource allocation towards the development of new technologies and methods of warfare. Furthermore, Russia has sent employees of 'Alabuga' to Turkey and Kazakhstan for SIM card testing, which indicates its intentions to enhance its technological capabilities.
Russia's Plans for Technology Control
Moreover, the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation plans to create an IMEI database and register all mobile devices of Russians by 2026. This move may indicate intentions to control mobile communications and information flows within the country, which could become another component within the framework of military experiments and preparations for potential new attacks.
Therefore, the Ukrainian air defense system, due to its effectiveness, not only demonstrates the ability to protect airspace but also reveals vulnerabilities of other countries that may be threatened by mass attacks. This experience may serve as an important lesson for European states that need to rethink their defense approaches in the face of increasing threats from aggressors. Russia's focus on technological development and control over information flows also suggests that the war in Ukraine may serve as a catalyst for new military technologies, affecting security in the region and beyond.
