Two Russian Oil Facilities Hit by Ukrainian Drones Overnight
Ukrainian Drone Strikes Target Russian Oil Infrastructure
According to ХВИЛЯ: During the night of June 25, Ukrainian drones struck two oil facilities inside Russia: a fuel depot in the Krasnodar region and an oil refinery in Ufa. The depot, located in the village of Poltavskaya in Krasnodar Krai, sits about 310 kilometers from the front lines. A fire broke out at the site following the attack.
The targeted refinery is situated in Ufa, roughly 1,400 kilometers away from the combat zone. In one industrial area of Ufa, three refineries operate, and two of them were hit. Local residents captured video footage of drones flying overhead, which appeared to resemble Ukraine’s Lyutyi UAVs. Witnesses also reported multiple ignition points after the strikes.
Impact on Energy Infrastructure
These attacks highlight the growing range of Ukrainian drones, now able to reach targets far beyond the front lines. Such strikes could disrupt Russia’s energy supply and logistics, potentially escalating regional tensions. They also underscore the shifting tactical landscape of the conflict, where unmanned aerial systems play an increasingly decisive role.
The recent drone strikes are part of a broader trend, as evidenced by another incident where drones targeted an oil refinery in Kapotnya, near Moscow, for the second time in just a week. This escalation in attacks on Russian energy infrastructure raises questions about the effectiveness of their defenses and the implications for regional stability.
