Ukrenergo Introduced Electricity Restrictions for November 28: Details and Schedules
Electricity Consumption Restrictions in Ukraine
Ukrenergo has announced the introduction of electricity consumption restrictions in Ukraine for November 28. This decision was made as a result of Russian attacks on energy facilities, which have affected the stability of electricity supply in the country. The schedules for disconnections will be in effect from 00:00 to 23:59, with disconnection volumes fluctuating from 0.5 to 2.5 shifts.
Industrial consumers will remain under restrictions throughout the day. Peak electricity consumption hours are expected from 08:00 to 11:00 and from 17:00 to 23:00. During this time, electricity consumption will be at its highest, requiring particular attention from the population and businesses.
Recommendations from Ukrenergo
During the night period from 23:00 to 07:00, a reduced electricity tariff of 2.16 UAH per kilowatt-hour will be in effect, instead of the usual 4.32 UAH. In light of possible blackouts, Ukrenergo recommends having a basic survival kit that includes:
- a radio receiver
- battery-powered flashlights
- a supply of matches and candles
- a charged power bank
- a week's supply of drinking water and canned goods
- a packed first aid kit
Viktor Kurtev, a representative of Ukrenergo, noted: 'Switching to electric heating is not an option. We will simply burn out distribution and building networks.'
The introduction of electricity consumption restrictions in Ukraine indicates serious challenges facing the energy sector due to ongoing hostilities. The government and energy companies urge the population to be mindful of consumption and prepare for possible outages. This may affect the daily lives of citizens, particularly the operation of businesses and the provision of social services.
