The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy of Poland has announced a new proposal for the minimum wage for 2027. The government aims to set the minimum rate at 4927 zlotys gross, which exceeds the proposals of employers and trade unions. This is reported by InPoland.
What could the minimum wage be in Poland
Minister of Labor Agneszka Dzemianowicz-Bąk stated that the minimum wage in 2027 should not be lower than 4927 zlotys gross.
According to her, the calculation is based on the projected level of inflation and current norms of Polish legislation.
Currently, the minimum wage in Poland is 4806 zlotys gross.
Why the minimum wage is being revised in Poland
The amount proposed by the government turned out to be higher than the expectations of employers, who offered 4860.70 zlotys, and even slightly exceeded the demands of trade unions – 4900 zlotys.
At the same time, the Polish government is working on implementing new EU rules regarding the minimum wage.
European standards stipulate that the minimum wage should be at least:
-
60% of the median wage;
-
or 50% of the average wage in the country.
The ministry also explained that in 2027 the minimum wage will be increased only once – on January 1st, as the projected inflation does not exceed 5%.
It is noteworthy that the analysis of the labor market in Poland at the beginning of 2026 indicates that the average salary in February reached 9135 zlotys gross, which is equivalent to more than 108 thousand hryvnias.
