According to glavcom.ua: Ukraine plans to start testing mobile 5G internet in Lviv, Kharkiv and Borodyanka in autumn 2025. However, widespread coverage of this technology is expected only after 2030. The launch of 5G in the country has been postponed until the end of martial law to conduct the necessary tests before implementation.
Already now in Ukraine, over 22% of all phones support 5G technology. In addition, the first university 5G space has been launched in Kyiv, which will allow students and teachers to have fast internet access together with Vodafone.
Currently, various processes are also taking place in the world, including the Taliban's internet shutdown in Afghanistan and a campaign to cleanse the internet of negative content in China.
According to the announcement, mobile 5G internet will be available in Ukraine no earlier than 2030. During this time, technology testing is taking place to prepare for its full launch. It is also important to note that there are other aspects of internet use in the world, including issues of censorship and information control in different countries.
