In Ukraine, biometric identification of the deceased is being launched: how it will work
Ukraine has begun an experimental project using biometric identification of deceased individuals, announced Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko. Now, in addition to DNA analysis, fingerprinting will also be used - identifying individuals by their fingerprints.
'This is an additional tool that will allow us to identify the deceased more quickly, and their families to receive answers to the most painful questions,' explained the minister.
Klymenko emphasized that the work of investigators, forensic experts, and agency representatives is complex and requires great attentiveness. An important stage is identification, which can take a lot of time, but the result must be as accurate as possible.
'We are obligated to return the names of our Heroes - honorably and accurately, securing them in the memory of the country,' noted Ihor Klymenko.
The experimental project for biometric identification of the deceased, which has started in Ukraine, aims to expedite the process of identifying those who have died and provide families with answers to long-awaited questions.
