Bus fare in Uzhhorod: new tariffs and payment methods
After the tariff changes, the bus fares in Uzhhorod will look like this:
-
18 UAH - payment by card through the validator;
-
23 UAH - cash payment to the driver with a paper ticket.
The city council emphasizes that the differentiated system is intended to encourage cashless payments and organize passenger accounting.
Fines and 'increased price ticket'
For passengers without a ticket, an 'increased price ticket' is planned to be introduced. According to preliminary calculations, its price will be 20 times the fare - 360 UAH. Such a ticket can be offered for purchase directly in the bus to avoid administrative penalty procedures.
In case a passenger refuses to pay the increased fare ticket, a fine of the same amount - 360 UAH, will be imposed, but with the complete administrative procedure. The final rules regarding fines and the increased price ticket are to be approved by a separate decision of the executive committee. The city council notes that while forming the approach, they took into account the experience of Lviv.
The increase in the fare was justified by carriers due to rising costs of transport maintenance. They have been stating the need for a price change for over six months.
We remind you that Ukrzaliznytsia has opened new international routes to Europe from Uzhhorod to Bratislava, Vienna, and Budapest.
