Zelenskyy Holds Command Meeting on Border Regions: Strikes, Energy, and Security Orders
Conditions in Border and Frontline Regions
According to ХВИЛЯ: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened his daily command meeting to assess the situation in border and frontline regions. The discussions centered on Russian strikes, energy restoration, and security measures. Zelenskyy issued specific directives to the Air Force command, the Ministry of Defense, and the Ministry of Energy, tasking them with developing concrete plans to bolster the protection of critical infrastructure.
Reports indicate that 470 attack drones were recorded over Kherson in the past day. An attack in the Bohodukhiv district of the Kharkiv region resulted in the death of a family: two two-year-old boys, a one-year-old girl, and their father. The children's mother is currently hospitalized. In the Donetsk region, efforts are underway to restore gas supply, while in the Dnipropetrovsk region (Synelnykove district) and Zaporizhzhia, crews are repairing damage to energy facilities from recent strikes. A portion of consumers in Zaporizhzhia remain without power following a 'Shahed' drone attack.
Government Actions and International Support
Following the meeting, Zelenskyy instructed the government to implement heating programs in the Poltava region. The details of the proposed systemic steps cannot be made public. The President noted that
“a Russian drone scored a direct hit on a residential building, and children were killed”
. He also emphasized that
“as long as Russia continues to kill people and destroy our infrastructure, even active diplomacy will not have sufficient trust in society”
- Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The situation in Ukraine remains tense due to relentless Russian attacks, which have severe consequences for civilians and infrastructure. Ukrainian authorities are actively responding to threats, working to ensure citizen safety and restore energy systems damaged by hostilities. These events underscore the critical importance of sustained international support for Ukraine, as the nation's security and recovery depend on both domestic resilience and the assistance of global partners. The war has evolved into a protracted conflict of attrition, heavily targeting civilian energy grids and population centers.
