Zelensky and First Lady Olena Zelenska personally spoke with the relatives of the fallen soldiers, expressed their condolences, and thanked them for their significant contribution to the struggle for Ukraine's independence.

"It is an honor for me today to see you, to meet you, and to personally present the awards of your children who gave their lives for Ukraine. This is an honor for Ukraine. They defended the freedom of our people at such a high cost," the president emphasized.
The president expressed respect for the fallen and noted that he is proud of their courageous act. He also presented state awards for bravery to the families.
Memories of fighters for Ukraine
Megan Mobbs, daughter of U.S. presidential special envoy Keith Kellogg, expressed her gratitude to volunteers from around the world who gave their lives for Ukraine on Ukraine's Independence Day. She emphasized that the struggle of Ukrainians demonstrated that freedom is everyone's right.
"Ukraine's struggle reminded me that freedom is not the inheritance of one nation, but an inalienable right of everyone..."
British volunteer Aiden Aslin, who received Ukrainian citizenship, went to the front lines again, promising to fight for Ukraine until its complete victory.
