Engaging with the People of Crimea

According to Radiotrek — Світ: On June 24, 2026, a column published on the Radio Track platform featured a proposal from Vladyslav Olenchenko, relayed by Maksym Rozenko, calling on Ukraine’s President to directly address Crimean residents. Olenchenko argues that the President has every opportunity to initiate dialogue with those living in the occupied territory, especially given the slow-moving yet deteriorating humanitarian scenarios unfolding in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Olenchenko stresses that Crimeans feel abandoned, noting:

“People who feel forsaken by the Kremlin’s leader will search for someone who can meet their most basic needs.”

In his view, President Zelensky can clarify to Crimea’s population that the occupying power bears full responsibility for any potential humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine’s occupied regions.

Humanitarian Conditions in Crimea

The column also warns that residents of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea must brace for life without electricity, water, or fuel at gas stations. Olenchenko advises those who moved to the occupied territory after its annexation to leave Crimea as soon as possible, thereby reducing strain on infrastructure and emergency relief systems meant for the native population.

Furthermore, Olenchenko suggests that

“Zelensky could announce an initiative to form an international group of countries-including Poland-to organize humanitarian convoys to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.”

He emphasizes that since the occupier kills civilians-women, children, and the elderly-in Ukrainian cities every day, Ukraine must continue targeting the occupier’s military capabilities in Crimea.

“We will be forced to keep destroying his military assets in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea until he leaves for good,”

he states.

This column highlights the urgency of the humanitarian situation in Crimea and urges stronger communication between Ukrainian authorities and the occupied peninsula’s residents. As the humanitarian crisis escalates, proposals for international aid could become vital steps in supporting those still living in the territory. Olenchenko underscores the need to address security and stability in the region, which could have far-reaching consequences for all of Ukraine.

In light of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Crimea, the call from Chubarov for Russians to evacuate occupied Crimea underscores the urgency for action. As conditions worsen, it becomes increasingly critical for both local and international stakeholders to address the needs of the Crimean population and to support efforts aimed at restoring stability in the region.
