Ukrainian Forces Launch Major ATACMS Strike, Crippling Russian Command and Supply Hubs
Major Ukrainian Strike on February 24, 2026
According to Главком: In a significant overnight operation on February 24, 2026, Ukraine's Armed Forces (ZSU) conducted a concentrated missile attack using ATACMS. The strike targeted Russian military command nodes, logistical infrastructure, and repair facilities within the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, successfully hitting several high-value enemy sites. This attack demonstrates Ukraine's ongoing capacity to disrupt Russian operations deep behind the front lines.
Strike Targets
The following key installations were struck:
- An auxiliary command post of the Russian Federation's 5th Army, located near Novopetrykivka;
- A material and technical supply depot for the Rubicon center unit in the Vasylivka area of Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
- An ammunition and materiel depot near Pryazovske;
- An ammunition storage site in Oleksandrivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
- An enemy repair base in the Yakymivka district.
This assault followed a series of strikes the previous day, February 23, when Ukrainian forces hit Russian command objects in Donetsk Oblast. Those targets included a command-observation post and a UAV control point in the Udachne area, as well as another UAV control point in Pokrovsk. Notably, this is not the first use of these advanced systems; the ZSU previously employed ATACMS missiles to strike military targets inside Russia in November 2025.
The General Staff reports that the final scale of the damage and enemy casualties is still being assessed.
This large-scale Ukrainian strike underscores the continued active efforts to degrade the logistical and command capabilities of Russian forces in the occupied territories.
The deployment of ATACMS missiles highlights the growing technological capability of the Ukrainian military in modern warfare and its determination to strengthen its position on the battlefield. An analysis of the losses and effectiveness of these attacks points to a strategic approach by the ZSU in conducting operations within the current conflict.
