According to glavcom.ua: Ukrainian journalist Dmitro Khilyuk, who spent 3.5 years in Russian captivity, spoke about the conditions of his imprisonment. According to Khilyuk, he was not presented with specific charges; he was simply held imprisoned under the pretext of 'interfering with a special military operation.'

During his captivity, the journalist received only one letter from the outside, sent two, but they did not reach the recipients. Khilyuk also noted that all prisoners in Russia hid their faces under balaclavas, probably out of fear of accountability.

«I am sure they were afraid. And this is the only reason why they hid their faces. Yes, they all were in balaclavas, especially in Pakin. But even in balaclavas, they were not allowed to look at each other; they immediately started screaming,» - added the journalist.

After a long imprisonment as a civilian hostage, Dmitro Khilyuk returned from Russian captivity. He was kidnapped by Russian military personnel and initially held in occupied Dymershchyna, and then in Russia. The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into the abduction of civilians in Dymershchyna, in which Khilyuk and his father were victims.

The article discusses the conditions of detention of Ukrainian journalist Dmitro Khilyuk in Russian captivity. The prison in Russia, where Khilyuk was held, was characterized by a low level of respect for human rights. In this context, it is important to pay attention to the issue of violations of the rights of hostages in the conflict zone in Ukraine.
