How to use the free 'social taxi' in Zaporizhzhia

In Zaporizhzhia, a free 'social taxi' for people with disabilities and military personnel has been operating for almost a year. The service started on January 15 at the base of the city territorial social service center and gradually became available to a wider circle of residents. ZPRZ.city reports this.

The service quickly gained popularity: as of mid-September, there had been 1905 trips, and in the second half of September and October - another 501. In total - 2406 trips in less than 10 months. 268 city residents used it, including military personnel, people with disabilities, children, and mobility-impaired residents of Zaporizhzhia. The city notes that the service really changes people's lives: it stimulates mobility, enabling them to independently visit hospitals, banks, the railway station, the CNAP, or rehabilitation centers.

Who can use the 'social taxi' in Zaporizhzhia and what you need to know

The right to the service in Zaporizhzhia is available to military personnel, people with disabilities, war victims, and mobility-impaired citizens:

• Ordering - through the city territorial center by phone or at the address 9a Rekordna St.
• Applications should be submitted 2 days in advance, and military personnel only need one day.
• There is a baggage limit - up to 20 kg, dimensions no more than 50×50×50 cm.

How many 'social taxi' cars will be in Zaporizhzhia in 2025

Currently, three specialized vehicles are operating in the city, but the fleet will be expanded - Zaporizhzhia will receive Fiat Ducato as part of a UNDP project and the government of the Republic of Korea. These vehicles make dozens of address calls daily, arriving at a specified time and waiting for the passenger at the house.

The service appeared in response to the needs of people who require support due to their health conditions or circumstances of war. City authorities emphasize that demand is constantly growing - thus, it is one of the most needed social projects in the city.
