Ukrainians who have moved to Poland and are settling into their new life are increasingly considering loans as a way to cover expenses or purchase housing. Polish banks work with foreigners, but the rules for applicants from Ukraine can sometimes be stricter than for local residents. This is noted by "VisitUkraine"

Loans in Poland for Ukrainians: What Conditions Do Banks Set

After 2022, Poland became one of the main destinations for Ukrainians. Many rent housing, open businesses, and work officially - it’s only logical that interest in loans is rising. Banks accept applications from Ukrainians under general rules, but they carefully check documents and the duration of stay in the country. The decision is influenced by:

  • legal status and length of residence (at least three months);
  • stable official income and having an active account;
  • credit history, including checks of Ukrainian registers;
  • absence of overdue obligations in Ukraine.

For the bank, the main concern is the applicant's ability to regularly make loan payments.

What Loans Are Available to Ukrainians and What to Consider

Ukrainians can apply for nearly all types of loans, but the requirements differ depending on the product:

  • cash loans - the most common option for those working officially;
  • credit cards and installments - available to clients after a period of servicing in the bank;
  • mortgages - possible, but require a permanent employment contract, stable income, and a flawless credit history.

Before submitting an application, consider a few nuances: a short length of residence, unstable work, or problems with credit history can lead to rejection. Sometimes, Ukrainians are assigned a higher interest rate or a lower limit.

To increase the chances of a positive decision, experts recommend checking the Ukrainian credit history in advance, preparing all financial documents, and confirming the address of residence. The more transparent the income, the easier it is to obtain the bank's approval.
