What do Ukrainians work as in Europe

The most popular jobs among Ukrainians are unskilled labor:

  • drivers and couriers;

  • construction workers;

  • cleaners and maids;

  • warehouse and production workers;

  • hospitality staff.

Highly qualified workers, such as IT specialists or medical professionals, earn more, but they are fewer in number. Real examples illustrate the picture: Alex, a driver in Poland, earns 63.5 euros a day (270 zlotys), but complains that Poles are paid more. Yevhen in the same country earns from 706 to 1412 euros depending on the workload. Natalia in a restaurant earns 941 euros after taxes. Maria from the Netherlands started with 7 euros/hour unofficially, while at DHL she earned 400 euros a week at minimum wage.

Experts predict that with integration into the EU, Ukrainians will have better access to skilled jobs, but currently, 70% of migrants are in the unskilled sector.

Earlier, we reported where in the EU they pay over 50 euros an hour.
