According to hvylya.net: The White House has announced radical changes to the format of the upcoming negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Instead of the previously announced one-on-one meeting, negotiations will take place in a 'three-on-three' format with the participation of senior officials from both countries.

According to Sky News, the American delegation will be represented by President Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. The composition of the Russian delegation has not yet been disclosed.

Expectations from the negotiations

'I want certain things. I want to see a ceasefire. I want to see a ceasefire quickly. I don't know if it will happen today, but I won't be happy if it doesn't happen today. Everyone said it couldn't happen today. But I just say I want the killings to stop,' Trump told reporters aboard the plane.

Regarding possible security guarantees for Ukraine, the American leader ruled out the option through NATO, stating that 'this will not happen.' At the same time, he suggested the possibility of security guarantees alongside Europe, but has not yet provided specific details.

The role of Ukraine in decision-making

'They will be discussed, but I have to allow Ukraine to make that decision. And I think they will make the right decision, but I'm not here to negotiate for Ukraine. I'm here to get them to the negotiating table. And I think there are two sides,' said the American president.

Commenting on the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine, Trump expressed the opinion that such actions undermine Putin's position in negotiations. 'Putin thinks this gives him strength in negotiations, but I think it harms him,' he added, expressing confidence that 'something will come out of this' from the upcoming meeting.

In response to Russian attacks on Ukraine, President Trump expressed hope for a quick ceasefire and discussions on security issues together with the Ukrainian side at the upcoming meeting with Putin. The American leader also emphasized the importance of Ukraine in the decision-making process, but left the final word to the Ukrainian side. The results of this meeting could significantly impact the situation in Ukraine and international relations in general.
