According to hvylya.net: The Hungarian company Mol Nyrt. is considering the possibility of using the pipeline from the Ukrainian port of Odessa as an alternative to Russian oil, said the company's senior vice president, Szabolcs Pala Szabo.

The company wants to access the Odessa-Brody pipeline, which will allow for maritime deliveries from various oil producers. This will open the way to diverse alternative sources of oil through maritime routes. This pipeline would be used for supplies in the region, to Europe, and to Ukraine,

Then this oil could be directed to Hungary via the southern branch of 'Druzhba', which currently transports Russian oil to the country and connects with the Odessa pipeline near the Ukrainian-Polish border.

Challenges on the way to diversification

However, the implementation of this plan may be complicated by frequent rocket attacks on Odessa and the need for significant investments to restore the pipeline, which is currently inactive. Additionally, the Black Sea off the Ukrainian coast contains many mines following Russia's invasion in 2022.
