Budanov on mobilization: 'We destroyed the system ourselves' and Russia's plans for the Baltics
Kyril Budanov's statement on mobilization and changes in Russia's plans
According to ХВИЛЯ: The head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyril Budanov, expressed concern about problems with mobilization in Ukraine and changes in Russia's plans regarding the Baltic countries. The statement was made on December 16 during a closed interview at the LB Club. Budanov noted that 'we ourselves destroyed our mobilization', pointing to internal issues in this area.
Moreover, Budanov reported that Russia has adjusted its plans for an attack on the Baltic countries, moving the deadline from 2030 to 2027. This indicates changes in Moscow's strategy regarding the region. Currently, about 8,500 North Korean soldiers are in Ukraine, which may influence the situation in the country.
Ukraine's dependence on Western technologies
Budanov also pointed out Ukraine's dependence on the USA in the field of satellite imagery and early warning of ballistic threats. He emphasized that if contracts with the USA are blocked, Ukraine 'falls almost to zero'.
“And there is a lot of weapons,” - Kyril Budanov.
This statement reflects the presence of arsenals, but highlights the critical dependence on Western technologies.
Furthermore, Budanov stated that 'I am a maximum opponent of giving anything away. In principle', emphasizing the importance of maintaining territorial integrity. He also expressed doubt that 'no Europe, however much one loves it, will do this for us. Only we will', hinting that Ukraine needs to rely on its own strengths.
In terms of resources, Budanov noted that Russia is viewed as a country rich in natural resources but lacking technological solutions for their extraction. These factors may influence the further development of the situation in the region and require careful analysis from the Ukrainian authorities.
Kyril Budanov's statement underscores the importance of internal mobilization and Ukraine's independence in the face of external threats. Changes in Russia's plans regarding the Baltics indicate potential new security challenges in the region that may affect Ukraine's strategic decisions. At the same time, dependence on Western technologies in the defense sector remains a critically important topic that requires further discussion and decisive action from the Ukrainian authorities.
