Russian strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure
According to Міністерство інфраструктури: Recently, Russian troops have been hitting Ukrainian communities, ports, railways, and other critical facilities, which has already led to destruction and casualties.
In Kyiv region, an important railway station along with the terminal and suburban depot serving electric trains was damaged. These facilities are key to ensuring social connections in the region.
Ukrzaliznytsia has already altered train schedules to restore movement as quickly as possible. Buses have also been organized to transport passengers in case of complications with railway connections.
Some energy facilities have also been damaged in other areas of Ukraine, but rescue services are actively engaged in restoring the aftermath.
Without heat and electricity in some areas
As a result of shelling in Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, power generation and heating facilities were damaged. Repair crews are already working on restoring these facilities.
In Odesa region, over 9,500 subscribers remain without heat due to damage to power lines, and 34,000 subscribers are without water supply. Lines are being repaired and services are being restored.
Damage to port facilities and Russia's actions across the country
Ports have also suffered from attacks – part of the infrastructure was left without electricity, but operators switched to backup power from generators. Russian strikes caused damage to administrative buildings and port infrastructure.
Russia regularly attacks cities, energy facilities, and logistics infrastructure across Ukraine, forcing the relevant services to operate in heightened mode and provide assistance to citizens.
Centers for assistance are being created for those affected by the lack of electricity and heating. Repair work is ongoing continuously for the swift restoration of normal infrastructure functioning.
As a result of the massive strikes on Ukraine's infrastructure, significant destruction of public facilities occurred, leaving thousands of people without heat, electricity, and water supply. Repair crews and emergency services are working on-site to restore the affected areas.
