Putin rejects the possibility of a 'New Year's truce'
The press secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov, announced that there are currently no agreements on a possible 'New Year's truce' in the conflict zone. This information is being disseminated by Russian media according to Glavcom.
'Currently, nothing is being discussed, a completely different process is ongoing,' Peskov responded to a question about whether Russia is considering the initiative for a ceasefire during the New Year holidays.
No explanations were provided regarding the specific 'different process' referenced by the Kremlin representative.
Results of the meeting in the Kremlin
At the beginning of December, Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with the special envoy of US President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, as well as other participants. The meeting lasted nearly five hours.
After the meeting, Putin's assistant, Yuri Ushakov, stated that there is currently no agreed plan regarding Ukraine: some American proposals are acceptable to the Russian Federation, while others are not.
Ukraine hopes that in the future, a constructive dialogue will be achieved between Russia and the USA for peace in the country.
