According to hvylya.net: The Verkhovna Rada adopted a draft law to update the provisions of the Civil Code in the first reading. The initiative is aimed at ensuring effective legal protection of intangible goods in the context of rapid technological development.

The law proposes the establishment of new digital rights for citizens, such as the right to a digital image, a ban on deepfakes, the right to be forgotten, and digital privacy. In addition, the update of the code covers the areas of biomedicine and rights related to a person's death, including informed consent, bodily and mental integrity, and posthumous rights.

The draft law will be edited before the second reading, taking into account public opinion to comply with European standards in the field of human rights and digital regulation.

A correspondent described the adoption of the draft law by the Verkhovna Rada, which aims to update the provisions of the Civil Code to protect intangible goods in the context of technology development. The initiative provides for the establishment of digital rights for citizens and the regulation of issues in the areas of biomedicine and rights related to a person's death. After the law is revised, it is planned to consider public opinion and European standards in human rights and digital regulation.
