According to the company Cloudwards, which specializes in cloud technologies, European beaches are among the most uncomfortable in the world, especially in the context of overcrowding.

According to the study, eight out of ten beaches that are most often criticized for overcrowding are located in Europe. Bournemouth Beach in the UK tops the anti-ranking among European beaches and ranks fifth in the world. Most visitors complain about its cleanliness and the crowds of vacationers.

Italy leads in beach overcrowding. For example, La Pelosa Beach in Sardinia ranks first in the number of complaints about overcrowding, while La Chinta Beach in Sardinia ranks second in this category. Following in the ranking are beaches in Portugal, Spain, and Cyprus, known for their beauty and overcrowding.

Greek beaches among the dirtiest

Greece also has problematic beaches, particularly Balos Lagoon in Crete and Elafonissi Beach, which are noted in some categories of the anti-ranking. On the island of Lefkada in the Ionian Sea, Porto Katsiki Beach made the list of the worst in the ranking for noise and disorder.

It is also worth noting that Spain has introduced strict rules against illegal reservation of places on beaches. For instance, in Barcelona and on the Costa Blanca, significant fines may apply for violating these rules.

Leading beaches in Europe have earned a prominent place in the world anti-ranking due to overcrowding and other problems. Italy stands out on this list for its beaches, while Greece ranks among the dirtiest. Spain is taking measures against illegal reservation of spots on the coast.
