Fines for burning vegetation in Ukraine

Ukrainians were explained that for burning dry grass, fallen leaves, and other plant residues, a fine ranging from 3060 to 6120 hryvnias is provided. Such actions carry a high risk of fire and pollution of the environment, reported the press service of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.

In the case of burning vegetation in nature reserves, the fine can reach 12240 hryvnias. For the destruction of forests or green plantings, a fine ranging from 91800 to 153000 hryvnias may be imposed, or punishment in the form of imprisonment.

The criminal punishment can be from 5 to 10 years in the event of death or serious consequences from burning vegetation.

Fine for storing firewood

fines are also provided in Ukraine for illegal logging and illegal storage of firewood. The fine for storage can reach 30000 hryvnias, and a fine ranging from 510 to 1020 hryvnias may be imposed for the illegal removal of trees.

It is also prohibited to cut down trees without the permission of the owner of the private plot. Violations in this area may lead to a fine, restriction of freedom, or imprisonment for up to 3 years.

Currently, a unified register of debtors is being prepared in Ukraine for more effective control over violators of environmental norms.
