According to glavcom.ua: A group of activists, including Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg, along with a humanitarian aid flotilla, were unable to continue their journey to Gaza due to weather conditions. According to the Global Sumud Flotilla project, about 20 ships left Barcelona on August 31 with the aim of breaking the maritime blockade of the Gaza Strip.

The journey was interrupted due to unfavorable weather conditions, and the flotilla was forced to return to port. Plans for a further attempt to reach Gaza by sea are currently unspecified. According to the organizers, the decision to return was made in the interest of ensuring the safety and well-being of the participants in the journey.

“We made this decision to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and to guarantee the success of our mission”

Israel has established a maritime blockade to prevent the supply of weapons to Hamas in the Gaza Strip. According to Israel Hayom, the Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir has developed a plan regarding the treatment of activists. Under this plan, participants may be arrested and their ships confiscated.

In the event of breaching the prohibited zone, activists could find themselves in an Israeli prison for terrorists - in Ktzi'ot or Damon. It is reported that the basis for such actions will be violations of military control regulations and connections with terrorist groups.

The humanitarian aid flotilla, with Greta Thunberg on board, was forced to return to port due to weather conditions. Israel is preparing for a possible encounter with the activists and may arrest them if they attempt to break the maritime blockade to Gaza.
