In December last year, an Indian company delivered military-grade explosives to Russia worth $1.4 million, despite threats from the U.S. to impose sanctions. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the Reuters agency.

One of the Russian companies listed as recipients of the compound known as octogen is the explosives manufacturer 'Promsynthez'.

Octogen is widely used in the warheads of missiles and torpedoes, rocket engines, and other military systems. The U.S. government noted octogen as an important substance for Russia's military efforts. India, which seeks to balance China's influence, has not abandoned its military and economic ties with Russia, particularly in the procurement of Russian oil.The U.S. Treasury Department has the authority to impose sanctions against those who supply octogen to Russia. The Indian government claims that the export of the substances is carried out in accordance with international obligations and export criteria.Customs documents revealed a shipment of octogen to Russia worth over $1 million and for $405,200 purchased by Russian companies. Such shipments may be vulnerable amidst potential U.S. sanctions that could impact the supply of Russian oil to key importing countries.India is actively developing alternative energy sources and seeks to reduce its dependence on Russian supplies, which could prove useful in the event sanctions are imposed on cooperation with Russia. With the emergence of documentation on the shipment of octogen from India to Russia, a discussion opens on the implications of these actions and their possible consequences on the international market for military resources and energy. Ukrainian media and customs continue to monitor developments in this area.
