Kyiv bids farewell to Andriy Dyzel: founder of Green Grey passed away at 55
Today, October 23, the farewell ceremony for Ukrainian musician, leader and founder of the rock band Green Grey Andriy Dyzel Yatsenko, who passed away on October 20 at the age of 55, is taking place. This is reported by 'Hlahom'.
The farewell ceremony began at 9:00 AM at the Cinema House of the National Union of Filmmakers of Ukraine.

Friends and fans of the musician gather at the 'Cinema House' to bid farewell to him. The farewell will last until 11:30 AM. Among those present were singers Viktor Pavlik, Jamala, and Taras Topolya, showman Andriy Dzedzhula, as well as MP Mykola Tyshchenko. The last to pay tribute to Dyzel was his colleague from the band Green Grey, Muryk.

Andriy Yatsenko is a Ukrainian rock musician, leader and founder of the band Green Grey, guitarist, composer. He was born on December 25, 1969, in Kyiv. Yatsenko actively influenced the formation of a pro-European worldview in Ukraine at the turn of the 20th to 21st centuries.
The band Green Grey was founded in 1993 and consisted of Dmytro Muravytskyi ('Muryk') and Andriy Yatsenko ('Dyzel'). It was the first Ukrainian band to receive an MTV Europe Music Award (in 1996 in London; the second award in 2009 in Berlin).
Green Grey also became the first performers in Ukraine to sign a contract with Pepsi (in 1996). In 2023, the band unexpectedly thanked the third president Viktor Yushchenko for his participation in the Orange Revolution. In 2022, the band presented the Ukrainian version of the hit 'Emigrant'.
