According to Главком: Residents of a multi-story building in Kremenchuk have successfully installed a solar power station on their roof, supported by the state energy efficiency program 'GreenHome'. This initiative, which provides power for part of the building's infrastructure, including the boiler room, outdoor lighting, and video surveillance systems, is a growing trend in Ukraine as communities seek energy independence amid frequent power disruptions.
The project was a collective effort by all co-owners of the building, numbering over 200 residents. A total of 42 solar panels were installed over approximately one month. The total project cost was around 200,000 hryvnias, with each apartment contributing 2,000 hryvnias. Through the 'GreenHome' program, the residents received a 70% compensation, amounting to 138,000 hryvnias.

Oleksandr Liubenko, head of the homeowners' association (OSBB), stated: 'Everyone was in favor because we had been running on a generator for two months. We had a generator that needed constant refueling and maintenance. That meant changing the oil every week and refueling every day. And we all see the price of gasoline.'
Serhii Liubenko added, 'The total cost came to around 200,000 hryvnias. After we installed it and saw it perform under favorable weather conditions, we decided to install additional solar panels. From the Energy Efficiency Fund under the 'GreenHome' program, we received compensation of 70%. In monetary terms, we received 138,000 hryvnias.'
The solar station provides autonomous power supply for 2 to 15 days during electricity outages. 'We accumulate energy. For the period of a blackout, we have our own electricity for between two and 15 days. We also have our own generation, which on sunny days allows us to cover our needs with a surplus,' noted the OSBB head. Residents plan further improvements to the system, specifically aiming to provide autonomous power for the building's elevators.
