The Ministry of Finance proposes to increase taxes to support the anti-terrorist operation
The anti-terrorist operation costs Ukraine one and a half billion hryvnias monthly. By the end of the year, the total will exceed nine billion hryvnias. This was stated by Minister of Finance Alexander Shlapak at a meeting of the parliamentary conciliation council.
To ensure that the military are not left without funding, the government has developed a series of draft laws regarding the balancing of the state budget. In particular, it is proposed to increase the environmental tax and the payment for oil and gas extraction. At the same time, it is planned to reduce expenditures in the coal industry and cut subsidies for local budgets. Optimization will also affect budget employees.
In addition, the government proposes to increase expenses from the reserve fund for restoring normal living conditions in eastern regions liberated from militants, as well as for settling displaced persons.
