Briefing by Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs

According to МЗС: Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the state energy company Naftogaz held a briefing for foreign diplomatic missions to discuss the consequences of Russian attacks on the 'Druzhba' oil pipeline. Representatives from 31 countries attended, including G7 nations and other European partners of Ukraine. This pipeline is a critical artery for transporting oil across Eastern Europe, making its security a matter of international concern.

Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis and Naftogaz CEO Serhii Koretskyi addressed the participants. The briefing provided technical details on the state of the infrastructure following the shelling of the 'Druzhba' pipeline.

Yevhen Perebyinis stated that 'our goal is for international partners to have a full understanding of the consequences of Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.'

He also pointed to the latest mass missile and drone assault on Ukraine. Despite these attacks, Ukraine remains a reliable partner in ensuring Europe's energy security. The meeting was initiated to shed light on the real situation regarding the restoration of the 'Druzhba' pipeline's operations.

Serhii Koretskyi, in turn, emphasized that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has carried out over 400 attacks on Naftogaz Group facilities. More than 30 strikes have already been recorded in 2026 alone. In particular, the January 27th attack on the 'Druzhba' pipeline infrastructure caused significant damage.

Koretskyi added that 'we have already provided partners with technical information on the consequences of this strike, and during this meeting we were able to show more detailed materials from the site and explain the challenges our specialists are facing.'

He also noted that restoring such infrastructure is a complex technological process requiring time, specialized equipment, and the constant work of teams, even under threat.

The Briefing's Significance for International Support

Thus, the briefing served as a crucial step in securing international support and raising awareness about the state of Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Discussing the consequences of attacks on strategic objects like the 'Druzhba' pipeline highlights not only the urgency of the problem but also Ukraine's commitment to maintaining stability in energy supplies for its European partners, despite military challenges. This information can help strengthen international solidarity and coordinate actions in the field of energy security given the current situation in Ukraine.
