Ukrainian car dealerships are required to disclose data on fuel consumption and emissions
Car dealerships are required to provide complete information about vehicle economy
The government of Ukraine has decided that car dealers must provide their customers with complete information on how cars affect their wallets and the environment.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, this requirement has been in effect in the European Union for more than two decades. According to the regulation, all new cars must have labels with fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. Additionally, dealerships must have posters or screens with comparative data on models.
An important innovation will be the launch of an electronic guide with official data on all new passenger cars. It will be available on the website of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development for all interested parties.
The new rules will enter into force nine months after the publication of the regulation, allowing dealerships and state agencies time to prepare. The Ministry of Communities and Territories Development will be responsible for the electronic guide, while dealers will need to adapt their processes to the new requirements.
Bringing Ukrainian car dealerships up to European standards
Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev emphasized that the implementation of European standards for informing consumers about cars is an important step for consumer protection, supporting fair competition, and reducing the negative impact of transport on the climate.
These changes will enable Ukrainians to choose cars in an informed manner, and it will be easier for companies to operate according to standards already accepted in the European Union.
The Ukrainian government's regulation requires dealerships and other trading platforms to provide customers with complete information about vehicle economy and their impact on the environment. This will contribute to reducing the negative impact of transport on the environment and will help Ukrainians make more conscious car choices.
