Russian UAV crashes in Romania: what is known about the border incident
Russian UAV crashed on Romanian territory during the attack on Odesa
According to glavcom.ua: In the night of November 11, while Russia was carrying out another attack on Odesa, an unmanned aerial vehicle fell on Romanian territory, bordering Ukraine. This was reported by the Romanian Ministry of Defense.
The Romanian Ministry of Defense recorded several groups of drones at the border with Ukraine, as a result of which Romania increased the readiness of its air defense. However, poor weather conditions, including fog, complicated the drones' patrolling of the country's airspace.
In the southeastern part of Tulcea County, local residents were alerted about an air raid. Following this, loud explosions were heard in the Izmail port area on Ukrainian territory.
One of the downed drones fell at 01:09 just 5 km from the border with Ukraine on Romanian territory. Military personnel arrived at the crash site and cordoned off the area for investigation.
Strengthening defense measures against Russia from Norway to Turkey
After a series of incursions into NATO's airspace, Poland and Romania began implementing the American Merops system, tested in Ukraine, to combat Russian drones. It detects and approaches unmanned aerial vehicles using artificial intelligence.
NATO representatives stated that they plan to strengthen defense capabilities from Norway to Turkey, making the border with Russia "well-armed enough for Moscow not to dare to cross it.".
During the attack on Odesa, the Russian Federation lost an unmanned aerial vehicle on Romanian territory, which prompted increased defense measures against Russia from Norway to Turkey.
