New biometric system at the border with Poland: delays expected
The State Border Guard Service has warned Ukrainians about possible delays at the border with Poland. At some checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border, border guards have begun testing a new biometric control system. This may cause delays in processing citizens.

According to Ukrainian border guards, as of 16:19, the queues at the checkpoints in Lviv region are as follows: 'Shehyni' - 150 cars; 'Krakoivets' - 20 cars; 'Nyzhankovychy' - 10 cars; 'Smilnytsia', 'Uhriniv', 'Hrushev' and 'Rava-Ruska' are operating without delays.
Testing of the biometric control system
'At some checkpoints, Polish border guards have begun testing a new biometric control system. It involves reading faces and fingerprints upon entry and exit from Ukraine. Due to additional processing procedures, the processing of citizens may take a little longer,' said the State Border Guard Service.
In addition, repair works are ongoing on the 'Shehyni' crossing from the Ukrainian side, temporarily limiting the capacity for passenger and freight vehicles. It was previously reported that Ukrainians in Poland are expecting monthly checks.
The State Border Guard Service warns of possible delays at the Ukrainian-Polish border due to the testing of the new biometric control system. In case of temporary difficulties, it is recommended to plan your trip in advance and consider the possibility of delays at the checkpoints.
