New labor payment rules in Poland will take effect on Christmas 2025
In Poland, new labor payment rules will be launched starting December 24, 2025 — employers will be required to indicate salary ranges in job postings and will not be able to ask candidates about their previous pay. This is reported by the In Poland portal.
What will change for employees and companies in Poland from Christmas
Polish companies will be required to:
- indicate the level of payment in job advertisements;
- disclose the salary structure and bonuses;
- not ask candidates about their earnings history;
- in large companies — conduct audits of the pay gap between men and women and eliminate it.
Employees will be able to demand explanations and compensation in case of discrimination. Penalties and possible lawsuits are foreseen for non-compliance with the rules.
As noted by Polish specialized media, after the changes are implemented, many employees may expect raises, comparing their incomes with market rates.

Why new labor payment norms were adopted in Poland
The EU directive on pay transparency was adopted in 2023, and member countries are required to fully implement it by 2026. The main goal is to reduce the income gap between men and women and increase transparency in wage payments. Poland is launching key mechanisms ahead of the deadline.
The new rules aim to stimulate fair competition in the labor market, reduce instances of concealed wages, and complicate discrimination based on gender or previous income levels.
