Sheltering of the Institute of Otorhinolaryngology named after Prof. O.S. Kolomiychenko
According to Главком: On November 14, Kyiv was subjected to massive shelling, as a result of which the Institute of Otorhinolaryngology named after Prof. O.S. Kolomiychenko sustained significant damage. The main cause of the destruction was the explosion of an enemy drone, which led to severe consequences for the medical facility.
During the shelling, the shockwave shattered more than 150 windows in the institute's building and also damaged the structures of the buildings. As a result:
- two people were injured;
- about 90 patients were urgently evacuated from the institution.
As of today, the building of the outpatient clinic remains without a single glazed window, which indicates the scale of the destruction caused during the shelling.
Impact on the Institute's Work
More than 40 days have passed since the strike, and the consequences of this incident continue to affect the operations of the institute. The importance of ensuring the safety of patients and medical staff remains paramount, and the institution is in the process of recovery.
This incident is part of an ongoing conflict that significantly affects infrastructure and medical institutions in Ukraine. The shelling of medical facilities threatens not only the lives of patients but also the work of medical workers, who are forced to adapt to new conditions. Recovering the Institute of Otorhinolaryngology named after Prof. O.S. Kolomiychenko is an important step towards providing medical assistance in the region, but it may take a long time due to the scale of the destruction inflicted.
