Pensioners do not receive thousands of hryvnias: who is deprived of age supplements

According to hvylya.net: Ukrainian pensioners who have reached the age of 70 are entitled to an additional monthly payment. However, in practice, not everyone receives this money, even if they formally meet the conditions.

I am 84 years old, receiving 4612 hryvnias. My friends, starting from the age of 70, receive supplements, but I do not. I contacted the Pension Fund, but they say that everything is calculated correctly

A resident of the Poltava region, Stefania Ivanyuh, who is 84 years old, reported that her pension remained unchanged, although most of her peers already have age supplements.

Procedure for pension supplements

• from 70 to 74 years – up to 300 UAH;
• from 75 to 79 years – up to 456 UAH;
• from 80 years and older – up to 570 UAH.

As explained by pension expert Viktor Bohdanov, payments are made automatically from the pensioner's birthday, not from the beginning of the month. Therefore, in the month of reaching a new age, the payment may be partial.

If a person turns 70 years old, for example, on August 20, then the supplement is calculated only for the remaining days of the month, approximately 106 hryvnias. In the following month, the pensioner will receive the full amount

At the same time, not all pensioners are entitled to this supplement. The main reason for denial is exceeding the maximum pension limit. If the total amount of payments, including increases and supplements, exceeds 10,340.35 UAH, the age supplement is not assigned.

According to the expert, no additional applications need to be submitted to the Pension Fund – the supplement should be calculated automatically. However, if the pensioner doubts the accuracy of the calculations, it is advisable to contact the PFU in writing and demand an official explanation regarding the specific amount.
