Record Average Salary in Ukraine: How Will It Affect Pensions

The Pension Fund of Ukraine published data on the record growth of the average salary in the country. It currently stands at 21190 hryvnias. This was made possible by an increase of 1370 hryvnias in just the last month. This is the highest increase in the past year.

Regarding the impact of this growth on pensioners, experts note that this could lead to a significant increase in pensions next year. It is also important to highlight that this salary growth is key to the upcoming pension reform, which involves the implementation of a points system.

In the event of successful implementation of the pension reform, such high salary figures could ensure a significant improvement in the pension amounts for all Ukrainians. However, for individuals with low salaries, negative consequences may arise in the form of a decrease in the individual salary coefficient and, accordingly, the amount of future pensions.
