The Return Should Not Be a Test: How the State Helps Veterans
The Director of the State Employment Service, Yulia Zhovtyak, stated that the service is doing everything possible to support veterans in their transition to civilian life. She expressed this during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.
Currently, a Concept for the Implementation of Veteran Policy in the Employment Service is being developed, which should facilitate the full integration of veterans into society and the economy of the country.
'The return of veterans to civilian life should be a supported process, not a test. Our goal is to provide them with support at all stages.'
emphasized Yulia Zhovtyak.
Four Directions for Supporting Veterans
The State Employment Service is developing four main areas for the successful adaptation of veterans:
- Financial Support: More than two thousand veterans have received grants for business development, and more than three thousand new jobs are planned to be created.
- Education and Retraining: More than a thousand veterans have received education through vouchers, and five thousand have undergone vocational training.
- Employment Assistance: Every fourth veteran has already found work. Compensation programs for employers and workplace arrangements for veterans with disabilities are in place.
- Information Support: The service has more than 400 structural divisions and 88 'Made in Ukraine' offices, providing a full range of services from consultations to post-grant support.
The State Employment Service is actively working to support veterans in their transition to civilian life, providing not only financial support but also assistance in training, employment, and information support.
