Luhansk River - toxic collector in Luhansk
Потоки забруднюючих відходів загрожують екологічному благополуччю місцевих жителів.

According to glavcom.ua: In Luhansk, the Luhansk River is facing a critical environmental threat due to the discharge of industrial waste directly into the water body. This poses a significant danger to nature and the health of local residents. The news about this spread through the website 'Glavkom', referring to the National Resistance Center.

Contamination was observed near the bridge close to the Textile Factory. The water in the river has suddenly been covered with a chemical film, and suspended particles have appeared on the surface.

Main causes of pollution and the inaction of law enforcement agencies

According to the National Resistance Center, this is not an isolated incident but a result of ongoing discharge of wastewater by several enterprises. Experts believe that it involves toxic chemicals or mixed wastewater.

Regulatory authorities are practically not conducting any inspections or actions regarding the pollution. After the 'cleaning', which is carried out only for reporting purposes, the discharges of water are again intensified.

Possible consequences and problems for local residents

Ecologists warn that the consequences of pollution may have a serious impact on water, soil, animals, and people in this area. Moreover, residents of temporarily occupied territories in Luhansk region are facing problems with water supply and heating due to a lack of resources.

The Russian government plans to mass relocate Ukrainians from occupied territories to the Far East and Siberia, using them as a reserve workforce. It is also expected that occupied territories will be populated with income from other regions of Russia, which may lead to the displacement of the local population.
